Earth Worms: Poetry
By Mackaroni
I kind of wish I stood my ground more
Took a handful of the dirt
and swallowed it whole
Let the earth worms wriggle through my teeth
but I bend so easily
I let people speak for me
I really need to grow a backbone
as tall and ancient as an oak
You cannot move me
even with an axe
I kind of wished I
hoped I stood
my ground more firmly
dug my foot
Mackaroni is an artist and poet lost in the woods somewhere. You can typically find her listening to music in her backyard, or feverishly typing in her notes app.
